You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can’t forget. Those are your true friends.As I left my house that Sunday morning, I had no idea the contact I was about to make would be life changing. I couldn’t help but notice all of the open house signs on this busy weekend, and it reminded me I really should be more actively looking for my first house purchase. I realized I was discouraged – by the process, by the lack of interesting properties, by the absence of really good people in the real estate industry. In two years time, I had been through three realtors, each one with his/her different quirks. I was moving on from a realtor who never returned phone calls, a realtor who sold me on every property on the market, and most recently, an agent who told me I was crazy to look for anything outside of a condominium. I knew what I wanted for my first home, and I knew it was out there. I just hadn’t quite found the right person. What a difference a few wrong turns can make.

Trying to refocus my search, I started to follow one of the open house signs. Three wrong turns later I ended up on a street I never even knew existed in my neighborhood!
